HIGH SCHOOL

11.5.2020    WEEK 2 LEARNING@HOME VIDEO - MR POPLE - please see below

Welcome to our Learning@Home information page for High School. It is our deep hope that parents, students and the broader school community would use this resource as a means of accessing the information they need as they continue to partner with the school in providing quality Christian Education to their child.

The main digital platform is Microsoft Teams, which all students (with access to a computer and the internet) can access at home via their Office365 email address and password. If your family has opted for paper-based curriculum resources, further information can be given by calling the School Office.

HOW WILL IT LOOK?

Learning@Home pack Pick-Up and Returning Completed Work

This can be located on the LCS Secondary Learning Programs-Parent Guide page 4 & 5 and will cover both Ulverstone Primary and Secondary. It has instructions and map.

Borrowing from the library

The Library will remain open for students Learning@school with normal day to day borrowing.

For students Learning@home, we are still encouraging borrowing to take place. We cannot have you going without books!!

For students Kinder to Year 12, we are happy to organize a book pack to be collected from the allocated pick up area at the school upon request.   Requests would need to be in by Wednesday afternoon ready for the Friday pickup. Renewal requests may be sent through to library@leighland.tas.edu.au

Returns may be placed in the Book Return Tub which will be located in the MPH.

GETTING STARTED WITH  MICROSOFT TEAMS

Head of Curriculum, Rob Pople has prepared a series of videos to help you get started with Microsoft Teams. Please feel free to email him if you have any further questions or concerns.

HANDING IN ASSESSMENTS

Teachers will leave instructions for students about where and how to submit tasks. This could be through the ‘Class Notebook’ in Teams, via email or the ‘Chat’ function. Assessment Tasks will be submitted through the ‘Assignments’ tab in Teams, unless the teacher specifies otherwise. Further instruction can be found in the LCS Secondary Learning Programs - Parent Guide.

GOAL CARDS

11.5.2020 - GOAL CARD VIDEO - Please take a moment to watch Mr Wilson's video about Goal Cards.

1) At the start of each week, students fill out the card with the goals for each subject which they can find on Teams (or in work that has been sent home in hard copy).

2) They work through each goal and as they are completed they are crossed off.

3) At the end of the week, parents sign the Goal Card and then the student uploads it (by taking a photo or uploading the PDF) to their Care Groups Team as an Assignment for that week.

4) Parents can download a new Goal Card from the website for the following week. Those who have opted for paper will be issued with a new card when new work is dropped off and can return the prior weeks Goal Card with the work the student has completed.
