Burnie Campus

Welcome to the website for Burnie Campus of Leighland Christian School. This Campus caters for Primary years from Kinder to Year 6. Located on the edge of the city of Burnie this Campus is just 20 minutes from the (K-12) Campus of Leighland Christian School at Ulverstone. Students from the Burnie Campus are able to continue their Secondary and Senior Secondary school years at the Ulverstone Campus.

The Burnie Campus offers a warm, family orientated, friendly, prayerful and safe school environment. The School believes in having a strong partnership with parents.  Each teacher at the Burnie Campus knows each child by name. The staff work in close liaison with parents and enjoy parent participation in classrooms and other activities.

The PIP (Parents in Partnership) group play an important role at this Campus ensuring parents have the opportunity to have input into their child's education.

Our Playgroup introduces students to the school community and runs weekly on a Tuesday morning. Each year a program known as Pre Kinder runs for 8 weeks as an introduction to school life for those commencing school the following year.

Kindergarten is offered three days a week and provides a sound introduction to Christian Education.

The Primary K - 6 program has a strong focus on Literacy and Numeracy.  The School uses the Australian Curriculum viewed through the Christian lens.  There is an excellent Character First program which helps children establish sound Biblically based values for life.  The School offers all primary subjects but includes a strong focus in the areas of sport and music. Music is a key feature of the Primary Program at the Burnie Campus with all children encouraged to participate in an additional musical challenge.  The School also provides an avenue for involvement in a range of sporting teams.  Daily PE and the formal PE program help promote a healthy child.  Christian Living is a foundational program.  Science Technology, LOTE and Cultural Studies are also included in the curriculum.

Communicating and Reporting to parents is a key focus for the schools. Parent/Teacher interviews are held formally mid year with incidental contact throughout the year.

An Enrichment program operates from K - 6.  Learning Support programs are also provided for K - 6.  The School participates in all required Government accountability tests.

We trust you will find this Website of interest.  Should you wish to know more about the School please contact us.  We'd love to make a time to meet with you and provide you with a tour of the School.
