In Burnie we provide education for Kindergarten and primary students and in Ulverstone we provide education from Kindergarten to Year 12. The school has been operating since 1976 and today has around 550 students.

We are an independent Christian Parent Controlled School (CPCS) and a member of a national movement of similar schools around Australia. Today there are 84 similar schools around Australia with over 23,000 children enrolled within Christian Parent Controlled Schools. We are owned by the Christian Parent Association and governed by an elected Board. We value the parent Partnership in education. Our school is well resourced and we strive to create an environment which nurtures each child toward achieving their God given potential for a life of service.

We have an extensive bus network system established bringing children to school from many Northwest Coast towns. These include Devonport, Port Sorell, Latrobe, Spreyton, Sheffield, Forth, Leith, Ulverstone, Penguin, Sulphur Creek, Riana, Ridgley, Burnie, Somerset and Wynyard. The school only employs registered teaching staff, and all staff support the ethos, aims and goals of Leighland Christian School. We are blessed with over eighty committed and faithful staff serving at our school in both teaching and non teaching roles.
